Social Salons - Security

Social Salons protects your personal information in several ways:

1. SS collects minimal information from you

   To register you only need to provide your real name, Email address, and Time Zone

   You can add more info to your profile so other members can know a little or a lot about you, but it isn't at all necessary

   SS is free to use. SS doesn't collect any credit card info or other info related to payments.
    
   

2. SS will not give, rent, sell, or share your email and other info with anyone

   Almost no one will see your email unless you have chosen to show it on your profile. The only exception is the hosts of any salons you attend; SS will provide them with your email address so they can invite you to a MSTeams/Zoom/Meet video salon.

   SS will not give your email to other SS Users unless you click on a button to send your contact info to a specific person (and that can only be someone you've previously met in a salon)

   SS won't handle routine communication between SS Users. If you want to communicate SS will send your contact info (only at your request) and then you can communicate by that other method, such as email, social media, etc.
    
   

3. SS allows you to precisely control what personal info is visible
   By default, everything except your SS Nickname can be hidden from everyone
   You can show selected info, such as your real name, gender, picture, etc. only to your select "Favorite Guests" if that is your preference
   By setting your preferences, you can show as much info as you want to other SS users
    
   
4. The SS site has been developed with secure code practices to protect it from hacking
    
   
5. The SS site uses encryption to protect your info

   Your password and email address are stored with encryption for protection
    
   

6. SS uses https for security
   Like all modern websites, SS uses https, a secure protocol with encryption of info sent to and from web pages

You need to be registered and logged in with Social Salons before you can:
    Schedule a new salon, Join a salon,
    Save preferences and favorites, edit your profile,
    or view any kind of information about other SS Users.

Registration is free, easy, and requires minimal information. No cost, no ads, no tracking. Once you're registered you can fully participate in Social Salons.
